The costs of trademark applications in Germany compose of official fees and – in case a lawyer or patent attorney is involved – of lawyer’s fees.

In Germany the basic official fee of the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO) (German: „Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt – DPMA“) in Munich for a trademark covers up to three classes. Every further class leads to an additional class fee.

Apart from that there are service fees e.g. of the intellectual property (IP) lawyer or patent attorney who handles the matter (e.g. files the application, communicates with the trademark office and supervises deadlines).

• Is there a list of goods and services already available in German (or English)?
